People do some of the stupidest things and for the most part no one ever questions anything and we just kind of take them for granted but sometimes you can’t help but wonder if some of this stuff is actually real.
(Talking about this ridiculous purge thing right now but this is also true for soooo many other idiotic things that are happening)
Like seriously? How much of a lunatic do you need to be to go out and literally -terrorize- people as a joke? What kind of sadistic, twisted satisfaction are you gaining from this?? We can’t even just blame violence in the media for this, people have literally gone insane.
sometimes i’m like omg i can’t wait for school to start and other times im like yeah can we fast forward through the next few months and these mood swings happen literally every 5 minutes and i’m very confused
I feel so healthy right now
I’ve been having spinach and kale and other good stuff every day since we got back from the cruise (thanks mummy) and it makes me feel good
I think I’ll just keep a bag of spinach in my dorm room in college so I don’t explode w/ all the cafeteria food
okay fellow white people, let me explain something to you:
we are the problem.
we are the problem when we continue to benefit from being white and those who are not white continue to suffer because of it.
we are the problem when we continue to cry “reverse racism” when no such thing exists, when our position of power is in no way threatened, when our jobs and our lives are not on the line because of the color of our skin.
we are the problem when we continue to derail the issue and focus it back on us and about how sad it makes us to hear that POC are- justifiably- angry at us.
we are the problem when we are disgusted by people crying “not all men” but turn around and cry “not all white people.” (looking at you white feminists)
we are the problem when we refuse to acknowledge the issues of race in this country and how they benefit us.
we are the problem when we’re offended over a group of Black protestors- who are protesting a race-related issue- chanting “Black Power” - an act that in no way hurts us in any way except for our feelings.
we are the problem when we sit silently by and let all those people who we claim bleed the same red as us continue to be murdered simply for existing in a skin that is not white.
we are the problem when we claim to be allies but sit idly by and do nothing.
we are the problem.
it’s like those people-movers at the airport: we’re all standing on one- the destination being Oppressive Shit Town USA. some of us aren’t just standing on the people-mover, we’re walking with it. these are the people we all think of as racists- the kkk, the white supremacists, etc. but those of us who are just standing on it are still going to arrive at the same fucking destination as the people who are walking towards it. so unless we’re actively walking in the opposite direction, unless we’re actively working to not end up there, WE ARE THE PROBLEM.
we are the problem, white people.
(and if you disagree, feel free to unfollow me right now. you won’t be missed.)
EDIT: in all my rage while i was writing this last night, i forgot to include that the people-mover analogy is not mine. i believe it’s from beverly tatum’s book “why are all the black kids sitting together in the cafeteria?” which everyone should read. just wanted to make sure she gets her due credit.
